Chief Information Officer
Albemarle County Public Schools (VA)
Vince Scheivert is chief information officer (CTO) for Albemarle County Public Schools in Virginia and is leading the transformation of the school division’s twenty-first-century digital technology instructional model. His programs include the development of a 4G wide array wireless network that is making high-speed at-home internet access available for thousands of students unable to gain commercial access to such service. Vince also is spearheading the installation of fiber-optic cable throughout the county to improve connectivity between school facilities, provide DSL-comparable service, and improve the communications needs of local fire, rescue and police departments. In 2015, CoSN recognized him with its National CTO of the Year award.
Vince holds a BS degree in education from Temple University and an MA degree in educational technology leadership from the George Washington University.
